A WordPress Theme is something that controls the look and feel of your overall WordPress website. You can only use one theme at a time and I often get questions about which WordPress themes or “WordPress templates” do I recommend.
Many of my audience get overwhelmed by the choices, and rightly so there are something like 9300+ themes available on the WordPress themes directory, and that doesn’t necessarily include all those you’ve come across in other places. We really are spoilt for choice.
I personally prefer to purchase a premium theme to allow me more control and freedom when styling and shaping my websites to suit myself and my clients. It also gives me more options in terms of support if needed.
#1 WordPress Theme recommendation : Divi by Elegant Themes
I’m a big fan of the Divi theme and the drop and drag Divi Visual Builder by Elegant Themes.
This premium theme and visual builder include a great range of layout packs to get you started quickly. You’ve got the ability to explore a range of pre-designed – fully populated layouts, either choosing to import a single page or the whole site .
You can mix and match different pages from different packs to suit yourself and once you’ve imported the pack you can customise all of the onscreen elements from layouts, content, imagery, fonts and colour along with adding new elements.
Elegant themes also offers demo sites to allow you to experience what theses layouts will look like. You can check the layouts here https://www.elegantthemes.com/layouts.
I also love the factor that DIVI THEME and the The Visual Builder can also be used separately. So should you decide to use a different theme, you can still utilise the visual builder and it’s functionality without requiring to stay with the Divi theme.
I’ve build many website using both, using the theme on it’s on and using external themes and utilising the visual builder. My own Natalie Crowe Designs website uses a standard theme + the Divi Visual Builder and works perfectly.
#2 WordPress theme Recommendation: Astra Pro
Astra Pro is another good theme, it is available in a FREE and the PRO version. Which I found gave me more options and flexibility. I personally use Astra Pro for the NCDAcademy.
I usually look for plugins and themes with a developer’s license or lifetime licenses, whilst you’ll pay a higher price initially not having that ongoing cost as you grow and scale your business. Can be super helpful and more cost effective.
